A DIY battery like this is far better value for money than Lead Acid or Gel as it’ll last 3000+ cycles, versus the 200 to 400 that you’ll get from Lead Acid or Gel.
Our custom batteries will give you 304Ah to 608Ah of power in any voltage that you require!
Our custom batteries are assembled by our expert offgrid power engineers and are all capacity tested and signed off before being shipped to you.
We usually make these batteries to order and our lead time to build them is 14 days, so if you need it urgently, please get in touch with us. This lead time is to allow us sufficient time to build a battery that we’re proud of that will perform really well in your set up. It also allows us to check things over properly, run some tests before it’s sent out to you.
The manufacturer of the battery cells that we use for our custom batteries (EVE) has stated that they are 304Ah and based on our capacity testing, we can confirm this. They achieved slightly above 304Ah, so we’re very happy with their performance based on our testing. The cells are grade A and are brand new.
The design of your custom battery depends on your requirements and choice. We have options available that mean we can build the battery into a powder coated steel case or into a plywood case.
You have an option of using a JK or Daly BMS. Both of these options have Bluetooth connectivity. There is a free app for both iOS and Android. The BMS protects the battery from charging too much or running down too much, and also protects against charging when too cold (less than 5°C). It also balances the cells and keeps them around the same voltage.
The BMS has conservative settings to ensure that the cells last longer:
3.65v High Voltage Disconnect
2.5v Low Voltage Disconnect
At these settings, and because of the compression, we’d expect around 3500 cycles. This battery would last an average user a lifetime. It would last a full-time off-grid user ten years (charged every day).
We can build batteries in various configurations in 12v, 24v and 48v in both 304Ah and 608Ah capacity.
